The right beginner treadmill workout will get you in shape to get in shape. Starting somewhere is better than never starting. It is really common for women over 40 to be really out of shape. I was one myself a few years ago. It’s not a reason to give up.
Start from where ever you are. Can’t finish a workout? I couldn’t either when I first started.
Rather than being discouraged by not being able to run a marathon yet, congratulation yourself for taking the first step…wanting something so badly you are willing to change your life for it!
It is totally possible to lose weight and get fit enough to do anything you want. I read all the time about women over 40 running their first marathons, triathlons and anything else they put their mind to doing.
One workout at a time is the key. This is day 10 of our 30 day challenge!
Keep on truckin with it. Keep working hard the rest of the month, by the end, you will be amazed at the difference a few weeks will make.
Workout Tip for Losing Weight – No Excuses!!
Even now, there are days when I have to drag myself to the workout room. Little things pop up and part of me wants to use it as an excuse not to workout.
I don’t allow myself to go there, so to speak.
I don’t think too long on quitting.
I stay on track to get the workout video started. I’m half way through the workout and I begin to think, I am ready for this to be over. I have (fill in the blank) to do.
Again, I stop myself from going there and instead think, 15 min.
I can do anything for 15 min. I take it one exercise at a time. Every time I look at the clock it’s been 3 min.
I’m on the last 3 min of it and wow, what a great, awesome feeling it is to have finished strong!!!
My entire day goes by better with a little pep in my step because of how I persevered through a workout I wasn’t sure I could do.
That’s how I get through the tough days and that’s how you can also get through it. Most days I’m pumped and can’t wait to do my workout.
However, if I allowed myself to talk myself out of workouts on my bad days, I would have more and more of those, fewer good workout days and pretty soon I wouldn’t be working out at all.
Funny how the human body works, huh? Path of least resistance is what we naturally want to take.
The harder the effort, the bigger the reward.

Nutritional for Weight Loss
I really enjoy a good turkey burger. It took me a little time to be accepting of them, and now I don’t hesitate to reach for the turkey instead of the ground beef. (Be sure to read this article, A Must Read: Ground Turkey vs. Ground Beef to be able to choose the best meat.)
We bought a rather large jar of sun-dried tomatoes from Costco a few months ago…so I frequently find a way to add them to our meals before they expire. Tonight I tried some of our favorite ingredients into what could be boring turkey burgers, into WOW turkey burgers.
Mediterranean Turkey Burgers
1 lb Lean Ground Turkey
1/4 cup Breadcrumbs
2/3 cup Sun-dried Tomatoes, chopped & rinsed if in oil
6 Tbsp crumbled feta cheese
1 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 large egg
2/3 cup chopped fresh Arugula or Spinach
Salt & Pepper to taste
Mix everything together. Form into patties. Cook over medium- high heat until thoroughly cooked. Enjoy!
