If you haven’t pushed yourself a little harder than day 1 yet, give it a try today. You might surprise yourself at how much more you are able to do now already.
Workout Tip for Weight Loss
We have talked about a lot of great tips in the last 11 days, but today I thought of something that could be overlooked by many.
Fitness Apparel for Women Over 40
There are is some equipment + apparel for fitness I find essential and necessary for me to perform my hardest during workouts. It took me a while to figure this out, so I am happy to share with you now.
There are some items I don’t mind picking up anywhere…tank tops are one of those. I have yet to find a tank top I have to have. Usually, while shopping I can look through the clearance racks at Dick’s or other sportswear stores and pick up any on sale. No biases with them.
Then there are the items I spend a little extra to get and consider them oh so worth it.
Brooks Shoes – I’m on my 3rd pair of Brooks running shoes now. I have only just discovered them about a year ago. The rest of my shoes are a distant second now.
Workout pants – Lululemon. Wow, just wow. What an amazing feel these pants have. I get the ones that feel as if they are “hugging” you. I was a nonbeliever until a few months ago I walked into a store to try some on. Love at first try on. Warning, they are pricey at about $88 per pair. But after wearing, you will not want to wear any other brand. The customer service in the store is great, especially for first-timers. I knew nothing of what I wanted my first visit. They have so many different styles to choose from, it can be overwhelming.
A saleslady walked me through the store explaining the different styles and helped me size them correctly when trying them on. Place an online order or stop by a store today – then make sure to let me know how you like them!
I just picked up these 2 yesterday! They are the “Pace Rival Crops”.
Favorite Piece of Fitness Equipment
I really love all of our equipment, but to choose a favorite, it would have to be the BowFlex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells. I have had the most muscle toning since I started using these a few months ago. They don’t take up a lot of space in our workout room, plus they have practical weight levels. From 5lbs, 7.5lbs, 10lbs, 12.5lbs, 15lbs, 17.5lbs, etc. I like being able to go up 2.5lbs instead of 5lbs at a time.
If you aren’t lifting weights yet, don’t underestimate the value of lifting into your workout routine. With more toned muscle comes a higher metabolism plus muscle is much slimmer looking than fat. Having toned muscles is what will give you the slender, but curvy look women over 40 want.
